Elie Saab Spring Summer 2015 Ready-To-Wear

Elie Saab is a Lebanese self-trained designer, who began creating pieces at the early age of eight. He launched his Beirut fashion label when he was 18 years old and specialized in bridal couture. Working early on with rich fabrics, lace, detailed embroidery, pearls, crystals and silk threads, which still appear and give the unique Elie Saab look. He is known for using more fluid and light fabrics to ensure a delicate, but classy look.

After becoming known in Europe and the Middle East, Saab became an overnight success in the US, when his first dress was worn on the red carpet at the 2002 Oscars by Halle berry. She sported the burgundy gown when she won the award for best actress, and the following year stayed true to Saab, showcasing a gold gown. Over the last few years his pieces have gained increased fame among celebrities and with a ready to wear collection that shows in Paris every year, more and more ladies are attracted to his creations.

I personally have been a fan since seeing some of his wedding gowns and red carpet looks. His pieces are well crafted, yet soft. Evoking a classic yet flirty look, which I love. In the new collection I noticed a pattern of colors including black, shades of blues and teals along with reds and oranges, as well as pale blue and white. Many pieces showcase signature Elie Saab trends like high round collars, lace, embroidery and the high-waist accent belt, some of which are my favorite aspects of his designs.

I would wear every piece in the collection and after asking my boyfriend, Frankie, what he thought of it, the answer was pretty clear. With a simple “Yea Babe, I can see you wearing all of those outfits, except for the all see through ones! And the colors are nice,” I knew the collection must have been successful on the Paris runway.
